Aikido is a Japanese martial art based on reducing conflict
by connecting to and redirecting an attacker's energy.
Aikido is also a spiritual practice by encouraging the use
of its principles in all aspects of one's interactions, thus
reducing conflict and encouraging more harmony in one's
life. Come see Aikido West Reading in action as they
will be providing demonstrations of the techniques and
principles of Aikido in the 700 block. Demonstrations
will include basic self defense techniques, defending
against multiple attackers and the practice of some
traditional Japanese weapons. Several demonstrations
will be held throughout the day. Members of Aikido
West Reading will also be on hand to answer questions and
provide information.
