WEST READING'S 18TH ANNUAL ART ON THE
AVENUE
SATURDAY, JUNE 16, 2012 11AM-6PM (RAIN OR SHINE)
The 18th Annual Art on the Avenue, is a juried
fine arts and crafts festival featuring national and regional
artists showing and selling their creations on Penn Avenue in
West Reading, Pennsylvania. Each year thousands of people are
drawn to Art on the Avenue as the event continues to grow.
Located in the Greater Reading hub for arts, culture, shopping
and dining, this event appeals to both novice buyers and
experienced art patrons. As a talented artisan we invite you to
exhibit at this juried art event. Additionally the venue
features live music, street performers, local businesses and

ELIGIBLE MEDIA
Oils/acrylics, watercolors, pastels, drawings,
and graphics, woodcarving, pottery (wheel thrown or hand built),
photography, sculpture, fine crafts, jewelry, ceramics, fiber,
glass, furniture, leather, metal and mixed media.
ALL work must be original to the artist. Reproductions of these
are permitted. Work, which has been made with commercial kits,
molds, patterns, plans, or prefabricated pieces, is
unacceptable.
LOCATION
Art on the Avenue takes place on the main street
of West Reading, situated in Greater Reading’s hub for arts,
culture, shopping and dinning, the event appeals to a diverse
crowd of buyers, professionals, and families seeking an
interactive, educational and fun arts environment.
FEES
- Application Fee: $15.00 (non-refundable)
- Single Booth Space: $100.00 (10’ X 10’)
- Double Booth Space: $150.00 (10’ X 20’)
- Booth Electricity: $25.00 (limited availability)
2012 TIMELINE
April 16, 2012 - Final application
deadline. 5 photographs of recent work plus one of booth shot to
accompany application.
April 27, 2012 - Applications posted upon acceptance or
non-acceptance.
May 13, 2012 - Acceptance confirmation and booth fee due.
If paying by check, checks must be received by the West Reading
Main Street Foundation by this date.
June 8, 2012 - Booth location assignments, set up and
tear down instructions will be published.
HOURS
Set up will begin at 9AM and must be completed by
11AM. Vehicles must be removed from the show area by 11AM. The
show will run from 11AM to 6PM. Early breakdown will not be
permitted and vehicle restriction will continue until the end of
the show.
FALL FESTIVAL ON THE AVENUE
The West Reading Main Street Foundation invites
all Art on the Avenue applicants to participate in the 6th
Annual Fall Festival on the Avenue held Saturday, September 15,
2012 from 12PM-9PM (Rain or Shine.) The event will feature a
fall theme with live music, seasonal foods, children’s
activities, sidewalk sales and a beer garden. All interested
exhibitors can sign up at www.westreadingmainstreet.org.
EXHIBITOR RULES AND POLICIES
Eligibility: Open to all fine artists over the
age of 17. NO agents, dealers, or brokers permitted.
All applicants must apply online through
www.ZAPPlication.org. Contact the West Reading Main
Street office for questions regarding the application at

Cancellation: The full booth fee will be refunded if a written
cancellation is received by Friday, May 18, 2012. Cancellations
after this date will not be refunded.
Exhibitors will leave their exhibit space clean after packing up
at break down. If the space is not clean after the event this
could result in expulsion from future shows.
The non-refundable application fee must be paid at the time of
applying. Checks must be received by the deadlines outlined
above. A $35.00 service fee will be charged for any returned
checks to be paid by money order or cashier’s check.
Artists are encouraged to use tents for display purposes. Tents
must be provided by the artist. Display tents may not be staked
into the ground but must be secured.
The Pennsylvania Dept of Revenue requires each exhibitor to have
a Pennsylvania Sales Tax number, name and address. Please submit
your PA Tax ID Number on your application. For information on

Should artists have difficulty meeting show requirements please
contact the West Reading Main Street Office prior to application
submission at 610.685.8854 no later than Monday, April 2, 2012.
LEGAL AGREEMENT
The Main Street Foundation assumes
no responsibility or negligence for any transaction or accident
related to the showing, displaying or exhibiting of any work at
the show.
By submitting this application the applicant acknowledges having
read the information and agrees to abide by all rules set forth
herein. Applicant agrees that photographs submitted for juror
purposes are representation of work to be exhibited. Photos are
NOT kept on file and must be submitted with EACH application.
The Main Street Foundation reserves the right at its sole
discretion, to advise applicant of any work that does not meet
the standards set forth. Applicant agrees that such work will be
immediately removed upon request by officials. Failure to remove
such work or to abide by the rules set forth may result in
applicant’s removal from the show and/or applicant being
prohibited from future participation. |
